SF MUNI frequently charges riders $2.50 for transfers to and from Daly City BART even though these transfers are supposed to be free.

You might not even know that you have been paying for "free" transfers unless you carefully watch the SF MUNI fare box when you tag your Clipper Card, and/or you log into your Clipper Card account to review the history.

If you are improperly charged $2.50 each way for SF MUNI transfers to and from Daly City BART you could be paying an extra $5 on top of the BART fare. If you regularly commute on BART and SF MUNI you may have been improperly charged hundreds of dollars.

The SFMTA (SF MUNI) has a detailed description of the transfers to and from Daly City BART that are supposed to be free:

Transferring from the Daly City BART station to Muni

You are eligible for two free rides on the 14R Mission Rapid, 28 19th Avenue, 28R 19th Avenue Rapid, 54 Felton and 57 Parkmerced Muni routes when transferring from the Daly City BART Station and paying your fare using Clipper. The first trip must be taken within 23 hours after exiting BART and the second within 24 hours after exiting BART for the free fares to apply. The free fares are stored automatically when you tag your Clipper card upon exit at the Daly City station. You must also tag your Clipper card upon boarding Muni for proof of payment.

If you contact our law firm we may be able to help you recover damages for improper charges from SF MUNI as a result ot transfers to or from the Daly City BART station.
